NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 8th August, 2014
F.No. 1-62/FSSA/2014-DFQC.—The following draft of certain regulations to amend the Food Safety
and Standards Authority of India (Procedure for Transaction of Business of the Central Advisory Committee)
Regulations, 2010, which the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, with previous approval of Central
Government, proposes to make, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 11 and
clause (b) of sub-section (2) of section 92 of Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 (34 of 2006) is hereby
published as required by the said sub-section (2) of section 92, for the information of all persons likely to be
affected thereby, and notice is hereby given that the said draft regulation shall be taken into consideration after
the expiry of the period of thirty days from the date on which the copies of the Official Gazette in which this
notification is published are made available to the public;
Any objection or suggestion which may be received from any person with respect to the said draft
regulation within the period specified above shall be considered by authority;
The objections or suggestions, if any, may be addressed to the Chief Executive Officer, Food Safety

DRAFT REGULATIONS
1. Short title and commencement.—(1) These regulations may be called the Food Safety and
Standards Authority of India (Procedure for Transaction of Business of the Central Advisory Committee)
Amendment Regulations, 2014.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their final publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (Procedure for Transaction of Business of the
Central Advisory Committee) Regulations, 2010,—
(a) after regulation 2, the following regulation shall be inserted, namely:—
“2A. Appointment of members and tenure.—The members from the food industry, agriculture,
consumers, relevant research bodies and food laboratories with relevant expertise shall be
appointed by the Food Authority for a period of three years from the date of their appointment and
shall be eligible for re-appointment for a further period of three years”;
(b) In regulation 16, for the figures and words “16. Reimbursement of expenses”, the figures and words
“14. Reimbursement of expenses” shall be substituted.
