NOTIFICATION
The draft of the following rules further to amend the Karnataka Municipalities (President
and Vice-President) Election, Rules, 1965, Rules 2007, Rules 2013, Rules 2015, Rules 2018 and
Rules 2019 which the Government of Karnataka proposes to make in exercise of the powers
conferred by sub-section (2A) of Section 42 read with Section 323 is hereby published as required
under sub-section (1) of Section 323 of the Karnataka Municipalities Act, 1964 (Karnataka Act 22
of 1964) for the information of persons likely to be affected thereby and notice is hereby given that
the said draft will be taken into consideration after 7 days from the date of its publication in the
official Gazette.
Any objection or suggestion which may be received by the State Government from any
person with respect to the said draft before the expiry of the period specified above will be
considered by the State Government.
Objections and suggestions may be addressed to the Secretary to Government, Urban
Development Department, Government of Karnataka, Vikasa Soudha, Bengaluru-560 001.
DRAFT RULES
1. Title and Commencement.-(1) These rules may be called the Karnataka Municipalities
(President and Vice-President) (Election) (Amendment) Rules, 2020.
(2) They Shall come into force from the date of their publication in the
official Gazette.
2. Amendment of rule 13.- In the Karnataka Municipalities (President and Vice-President)
Election, Rules, 1965 (Amendment) Rules 2007, (Amendment) Rules 2013, (Amendment)
Rules 2015, (Amendment) Rules 2018 and (Amendment) Rules 2019 (hereinafter referred to
as the said rules) in rule 13 in sub rule (1) for Table 1 to 3 and the entries therein the
following shall be substituted namely:-
