The Tamil Nadu Oilpalm (Regulation of Production and Processing) Act, 1994 come into force with eff ect from 12th December 1994. As per sec 3(1) of the above said Act, a Statutory Committee called “The Tamil Nadu Oilpalm Project Management Committee” has to be constituted by the Government consisting of members as stipulated under Section 3 (2) of the said Act. Accordingly, in the Government Order 1st read above the Government had constituted the “Tamil Nadu Oilpalm Project Management Committee”. The Committee was again reconstituted in the Government Orders 2nd and 3rd read above. The term of the above committee is three years. The above Committee was lastly reconstituted for three years in the G.O. 4th read above. 2. In his letter 5th read above, the Director of Agriculture has stated that the term of the Tamil Nadu Oilpalm Project Management Committee expired on 08-07-2018 and as such, the committee may be reconstituted for three more years. He has accordingly sent necessary proposal to Government to reconstitute the committee for a further period of 3 years from the date of issue of order for the purpose. 3.
