In the G.O first read above, orders were issued freezing of Boundaries of Administrative Units viz., Municipalities, Revenue Villages, Towns, Tehsils, Police Stations, Sub-Divisions, Districts etc., and ban on formation of new Units in the State of Tamil Nadu from 1st January 2020 to 31st March 2020. 2. In the G.O. 2nd to 8th read above, the date of freezing of Boundaries of Administrative Units was further extended upto 31.12.2023.Mar. 6, 2024] TAMIL NADU GOVERNMENT GAZETTE 31 3. In the letter 9th read above, the Additional Registrar General, O/o the Registrar General & Census Commissioner of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi in his letter dated 29.12.2023 has stated that it has been decided by the competent authority to further extend the date of freezing of boundaries in the State of Tamil Nadu upto 30th June 2024 and frozen the boundaries of the Administrative units for the ensuing Census with effect from 01st July 2024. 4. In the circumstances stated above, the Government hereby orders to extend the Date of Freezing of Boundaries of Administrative Units viz., Municipalities, Revenue Villages, Towns, Tehsils, Police Stations, Sub-Divisions, Districts, etc. in the State of Tamil Nadu upto 30th June 2024 in connection with ensuing Census work and ban the formation of new units with effect from 01st July 2024 to till the completion of Census Operations. 5. All the pending proposals, if any to affect the changes in the existing Boundaries of Municipalities, Revenue Villages, Towns, Tehsils, Police Stations, Sub-Divisions, Districts etc., may therefore be finalized on or before 30th June 2024 under intimation to the Director of Census Operations, Tamil Nadu. 6. The Commissioner of Revenue Administration, Chennai, the Director General of Police, Chennai, the Commissioner of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Chennai, the Director of Municipal Administration, Chennai, the Director of Town Panchayats, Chennai, the Collectors of all Districts, the Commissioner of Greater Chennai Corporation, the Commissioners, Municipal Corporations are directed to adhere to the above decision of the Government.
