NOTIFICATION
Puducherry, the 23rd February, 2021
No. F.39-4/2019-CU I dated 03.02.2021.— In exercise of the powers by Section (26) Clause (3) of
Pondicherry University Act of No.53 of 1985, the Executive Council, with the approval of the Visitor,
hereby makes the following amendments further to amend the Statutes of the Pondicherry University Act
1985 namely:
6. School of Life Sciences:
(i) Name of the Departments: (a) Department of Bio Chemistry and Molecular Biology
(b) Department of Bio Technology (c) Department of Ecology and Environmental Sciences
(d) Department of Ocean Studies and Marine Biology (e) Department of Food Science and
Technology (f) Department of Microbiology (g) Department of Bio informatics.
(i) These Statutes may be called as the Pondicherry University (Amendment) Statutes
2021.
(ii) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
1. In the Statutes of Pondicherry University, 1985, In Statute 16 (5)(a) the word “ Department of
Bio informatics” to be added as sub-clause 6 (i)(g).
2. In the Statutes of Pondicherry University, 1985, the word “Centre for bio informatics” in Statute 16
(5)(a) in sub clause (6)(ii) (a) to be deleted.
