AMENDMENT NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 17th January, 2017
No. MCI 34(41)/2016 -Med./162906.— In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 10A read with Section
33 of the Indian Medical Council, Act, 1956 (102 of 1956), the Medical Council of India with the previous sanction of
the Central Government hereby makes the following Regulations to further amend the “Establishment of Medical
College Regulations, 1999 namely:-
1. (i) These Regulations may be called the “Establishment of Medical College Regulations, (Amendment) 2017.”
(ii) They shall come into force from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the “Establishment of Medical College Regulations, 1999 in FORM – 2 - Essentiality Certificate after entry
(a) to (d) the following shall be added :-
(e) The [Name of applicant ____________] own and possesses ___________Acres of land in
___________[Village/Tehsil/Taluka/District] on which non agricultural use of land is permitted and a
Medical College/Hospital can be established on it.
(f) The building plan of the Hospital and Medical College has been approved by the competent authority,
namely, _____________________________________________________, designated by the State
Government for such purposes on _____________. (Copy of the approval is enclosed)
(g) The Hospital and Medical College have been granted Completion Certificate/Building Use Certificate by the
competent authority, namely, __________________________________________________________,
designated by the State Government for such purposes on ____________. (Copy of the Certificate is
enclosed)
Conditions (e), (f) and (g) are applicable only for non-governmental applicants.
