No.MCI/203(9)/2011-Regn./160951.– In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 33 of
the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956), the Medical Council of India with the previous
sanction of the Central Government hereby makes the following regulations to further amend the
“Screening Test Regulations, 2002” namely:-
1. These regulations may be called the “Screening Test Regulations (Amendment), 2015.
2. They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
3. In the “Screening Test Regulations, 2002”, the following additions/modifications/deletions
substitutions shall be, as indicated therein.
4. In regulation 4 under heading “Eligibility Criteria” which was amended vide notification
dated 23.12.2011 whereby sub-clause (4) was added, the following proviso shall be added in
Clause 4(3) of the Screening Test Regulation, 2002:-
"Provided in cases where Central Government is informed of condition of war, civil
unrest, rebellion, internal war or any such situation wherein life of Indian citizen is in
distress and such information has been received through the Indian Embassy in that
country then the Council shall relax the requirement of obtaining medical education:
from the same institute located abroad in respect of which communication has been
received from the Indian Embassy in that country.”
