NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 4th May, 2021
F. No. CURAJ/R/F.136/2022/379.—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of
section 20 read with sub-section (2) of the Section 27 of the Central Universities Act, 2009 (25 of 2009),
the Executive Council of Central University of Rajasthan with the approval of the Visitor, hereby makes
the following Statutes to amend the Central University of Rajasthan Statutes, namely:-
1. Short title and commencement. – (1) These Statutes may be called as the Central Universities
(Amendment) Statutes(for Central University of Rajasthan), 2019
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Central Universities' Statutes (for Central University of Rajasthan), -
(i) after Statute 9, the following Statute shall be inserted, namely:-
"9 A. Constitution and Quorum of the Court -
(1) The Court shall consist of the following members, namely:-
(a) Ex-Officio Members:
(i) the Chancellor (Chairman);
(ii) the Vice-Chancellor;
(iii) the Pro-Vice Chancellor, if any;
(iv) All Deans of School of Studies;
(v) the Finance Officer;
(vi) the Controller of Examination;
(vii) the Librarian;
(viii) the Dean Students' Welfare;
(ix) the Dean (Research), if any;
(x) the Dean (Academics), if any;
(xi) the Chief Warden;
(xii) All Heads of the Academic Departments who are not Deans of School of Studies.
(xiii) the Registrar (Member Secretary);
(b) Representatives of the Academic Staff:
(i) All Professors who are not Dean or Head.
(ii) Two Associate Professors, who are not Deans or Heads, by rotation according to
seniority, to be appointed by the Vice-Chancellor.
(iii) Three Assistant Professors, by rotation according to seniority, to be appointed by
the Vice-Chancellor.
(c) Nominees of the Visitor and Chancellor:
(i) Four persons who are men of standing in public life or have special knowledge or
practical experience in education or have rendered eminent services in the cause of
education to be nominated by the Visitor.
(ii) Two persons of distinction in academic and public life, to be nominated by the

(d) Nominees of the Vice- Chancellor:
Two persons of distinction in academic and public life, to be nominated by the Vice-
Chancellor
(e) Nominees of the Executive Council:
Two representatives of Civil Society (NGO/ Industry/Legal Fraternity/ Eminent
Citizen(s)) to be nominated by the Executive Council.
(f) Representatives of Students:
Two student’s representatives (One Male and One Female) from the Students’ Council,
to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor on the recommendation of Dean, Students’
Welfare.
(g) Representatives of Alumni:
One Representative of Alumni Association to be nominated by Vice Chancellor on the
recommendation of Alumni Association.
(2) All members of the Court, other than ex-officio members, shall hold office for a term of three
years. The students representatives nominated under 9(A)(f) shall not have any voting rights
and their term may be considered till the end of respective academic year.
(3) One third members of the total number of the Court members shall form a quorum for a
meeting of the Court, excluding the Chairman."
(ii) In Statute 10, the sub-statute (5) shall be omitted.
Note: The Statute 10(5) was published along with the Central Universities Act, 2009 as a Schedule
annexed to that Act and the constitution of first Court of the Central University of Rajasthan was
made vide Section 44(c), Central Universities Act, 2009, which was published in the Gazette of
India, No. 25 of 2009 dated 20th March 2009.
