NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 7th February, 2016
S.O. 455(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of the section 12 of the
Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, the Central Government, after consulting the Medical Council of
India, hereby makes the following further amendments in the Second Schedule to the said Act,
namely:-
In the said Schedule under the heading “Nepal” – against “Tribhuvan University, Nepal”, under
the headings, Title, [hereinafter referred to as column (2)], Nature of qualifications as stated in
diploma, [hereinafter referred to as column (3)] and “Abbreviation” [hereinafter referred to as
column (4)], after the last entry and entry relating thereto the following shall be inserted, namely:-

(General Surgery)” Kathmandu, Nepal
[This shall be a recognized qualification
for 08 seats when granted by Tribhuvan
University in respect of students being

Maharajgunj Kathmandu, Nepal on or
after 2006]
Note: The recognition so granted to a Postgraduate Course shall be for a maximum period of 5
years, upon which it shall have to be renewed.
