**Policy Summary:**
This notification, S.O. 4347(E), issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on December 4, 2019, formally establishes nine new All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at the locations listed below. NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 4th December, 2019
S.O. 4347(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to sub-section (1) of section 3 of
the All India Institute of Medical Sciences Act, 1956 (25 of 1956), the Central Government hereby establishes
the following All-India Institutes of Medical Sciences, namely:—
(i) All-India Institute of Medical Sciences at Gorakhpur in the State of Uttar Pradesh;
(ii) All-India Institute of Medical Sciences at Bathinda in the State of Punjab;
(iii) All-India Institute of Medical Sciences at Guwahati in the State of Assam;
