S.O. 4611(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred to by sub-section (1) of Section 8 of the Indian Statistical
Institute Act, 1959 (No.57 of 1959), the Central Government hereby constitutes a Committee for the period from

2. The Terms of Reference of the said Committee are as follows:—
(a) the preparation and submission to the Central Government, as far as possible, before the commencement of
each financial year, of statements showing programmes of work agreed to be undertaken by the Institute
during that year for which the Central Government may provide funds as well as general financial estimates
in respect of such work; and
(b) the settlement on broad lines of the programmes of such work.
3. Secretarial assistance to the Committee shall be rendered by Indian Statistical Institute and the headquarters of the
Committee will be at New Delhi.
4. The Committee shall submit its minutes to the Central Government in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme
Implementation as and when the Committee meets. The Committee shall submit a Report on the above mandate as and
when finalized.
