NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 8th March, 2019
S.O. 1196(E).—In pursuance of Section 36 of the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains
Act, 1958 (24of 1958), the Central Government hereby makes the corrections in the description of the ‘Ancient Buddhist
Site known as Chaukhandi Stupa’ declared protected under the Ancient Monuments preservation Act,1907 (VII of 1904)
vide notification No. 342-M/367 dated the 13th February, 1907 deemed to be an ancient monuments declared to be of
National Importance for the purpose of the Ancient Monument and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1958(24 of
1958).
Now, whereas, the Central Government hereby specifies the protected area with respect to said ancient
monument as specified in the site plan and the schedule annexed hereto.
Any objection, to the declaration of the said re-notification may be made to the Director General,
Archaeological Survey of India, 24, Tilak Marg, New Delhi-110001 within a period of two months from the date on
which the copies of the Gazette of India containing this notification is made available to the public;
The objections, if any, received from any person with respect to the said draft notification within the period so
