New Delhi, the 14th August, 2017
No.1/NSC-2016-17.—In pursuance of the Government of India Resolution No. A-11011/1/2005-Ad.I dated
1.6.2005 published as Notification No. 85 dated 1st June, 2005 in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part-III, Section-4,
the following persons have been nominated as part-time Members in the National Statistical Commission, with effect
from the date mentioned against each name.
(i) Shri P.C. Mohanan (D.O.B: 05-08-1955), Former Dy. Director General, Computer Centre in M/o
Statistics & PI, w.e.f. 21st June, 2017
(ii) Dr.J.V. Meenakshi (D.O.B: 20-03-1962), Professor, Deptt. of Economics, Delhi School of Economics,
w.e.f. 28th June, 2017
2. The tenure of each Member will be for a period of three years or till he/she attains the age of sixty-five years,
whichever is earlier. The appointment, tenure and service conditions of the part-time Members shall further be governed
by Government of India Notification No. A-11011/1/2005-Ad-I (Vol.IV) dated 8th May, 2006 published as Notification
No. 465 dated 10th May, 2006 in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part-II, Section-3, Sub-Section –(ii).
3. The Members of the Commission will have the status of a Secretary to the Government of India.
