The Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya today inaugurated an exhibition, highlighting the strategic importance of
INS Vikrant, India’s first indigenously built aircraft carrier, and its role in strengthening the nation’s
defence capabilities and maritime security. The event was graced by Admiral R. Hari Kumar, former Chief
of the Naval Staff, who inaugurated the display in the presence of Shri Ashwani Lohani, Director, Prime
Ministers’ Museum and Library (PMML).

INS Vikrant represents a historic milestone as the first aircraft carrier made in India, symbolising the
country’s progress towards self-reliance in defence manufacturing under the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
