NOTIFICATION The draft of the following rules further to amend the Karnataka Government (Allotment of Government Quarters) Rules, 1999, which the Government of Karnataka proposes to make an exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 3 read with section 8 of the Karnataka State Civil Services, Act, 1978 (Karnataka Act 14 of 1990) is hereby published as required by clause (a) of sub- section (2) of section 3 of the said Act for the information of all the persons likely to be affected thereby and notice is hereby given that the said draft will be taken into consideration after fifteen days from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette. Any objection or suggestion which may be received by the State Government from any person with respect to the said draft before the expiry of the period specified above will be considered by the State Government. Objection and suggestions may be addressed to the Principal Secretary to Government, Public works Department, Vikasa Soudha, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Veedhi, Bangalore-560001. DRAFT RULES 1. Title and Commencement:- (1) These rules may be called the Karnataka Government (Allotment of Government Quarters) (Amendment) Rules, 2022. (1)R.N.I. No. KARBIL/2001/47147 POSTAL REGN. No. RNP/KA/BGS/2202/2017-19 Licensed to post without prepayment WPP No. 297 2 (2) They shall come into force from the date of their final publication in the Official Gazette. 2. Amendment of rule 3:- In rule 3 of the Karnataka Government (Allotment of Government Quarters) Rules, 1999, after the first proviso, the following provisos shall be inserted, namely:- “Provided further that, not less than fifty quarters, as may be specified by an order of the Government shall be reserved for the officers belonging to IAS cadre who are eligible for allotment of quarters under these rules: Provided also that, there shall be separate Allotment Committee under the Chairmanship of the Additional Chief Secretary to Government, with such members as may be specified by an order of the Government, For allotment of quarters to IAS officers.
