Ministry of Labour & Employment Major Initiative by ESIC, Marol: SPREE Scheme Extends Social Security Cover to 1.60 Lakh Employees प्रव तथ: 09 DEC 2025 6:52PM by PIB Mumbai Mumbai, 9th December 2025 The Employee’s State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), Sub Regional Office, Marol, has taken another strong step towards expanding the scope of social security. Over 200 compliance managers and senior consultants recently participated in a high-level webinar organized in collaboration with EPILPA (ESI, PF, and other Industrial Law Practitioners' Association). The session was chaired by Shri Sanjeev Kumar, Joint Director (In-Charge), ESIC, Sub Regional Office, Marol. The presence of senior office bearers of EPILPA's Executive Committee, in addition to the office's Assistant Director, Shri Kameshwar Dubey, was noteworthy. Shri Vivek N. Mangaonkar (Chairman), Shri Hiren Chheda (Vice Chairman), Shri Dayanand N. Mangaonkar (General Secretary), and Shri Hiral Chheda (Secretary) of the association actively participated in and guided the discussions. While chairing the session, Shri Sanjeev Kumar, Joint Director (In-Charge), ESIC, Marol, described the SPREE-2025 scheme as a game-changer. He reported that a successful registration of 1,60,000 new employees has been achieved under this scheme within the jurisdiction of the Marol office, which is a major achievement. All these employees will be entitled to benefits as per the rules under the social security cover of the ESIC Act. Shri Sanjeev Kumar stressed the importance of bringing previously Uncovered Units like educational and medical establishments under the ESIC ambit. He conveyed a clear message to all employers and consultants to ensure the registration of all eligible employees as soon as possible.
