Posted On: 17 SEP 2026 12:40PM by PIB Delhi The Ministry of Culture has made significant progress in reducing pendency and strengthening cleanliness and record-management practices under the Special Campaign for Disposal of Pending Matters (SCDPM) during the period from November 2025 to August 2026. The Ministry has also been regularly uploading its monthly progress reports on the SCDPM portal during this period.

As part of the campaign, the Ministry disposed of 3,512 public grievances, 53 references from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), 282 Members of Parliament (MP) references and 46 references received from State Governments. In addition, 870 physical files were reviewed, of which 400 were weeded out.

With the objective of promoting awareness and greater participation in cleanliness-related activities, the Ministry of Culture organised Swachhata Pakhwada from 16 April 2026 to 30 April 2026. The following

activities were conducted during the fortnight: • Swachhata Pledge: The Swachhata Pledge was administered to the officials and staff of the Ministry on 16 April 2026. • Quiz Competition: A quiz competition on the theme ‘Swachh Bharat’ was organised for the officials of the Ministry on 21 April 2026.

• Essay Competition: An essay competition on various themes related to Swachhata was organised for the officials of the Ministry on 30 April 2026.These activities were undertaken to encourage awareness and participation among the officials and staff of the Ministry in support of cleanliness and the broader objectives of the Swachhata campaign.

As part of its continued efforts to institutionalise Swachhata and ensure the timely disposal of pending matters, the Ministry issued instructions and guidelines on 17 August 2026 to all its Attached, Subordinate and Autonomous Organisations to actively participate in the upcoming Special Campaign 6.0. The campaign is scheduled to be conducted from 2 October to 31 October 2026.

Further, a training session on Record Management, to be conducted by the National Archives of India, is scheduled for 29 September 2026 for officials of the Ministry and its 43 organisations.

The Ministry of Culture remains committed to creating cleaner and more efficient government workspaces, strengthening record-management practices and continuously improving public service delivery and citizen experience in furtherance of the objectives of Special Campaign 6.0.
