From the Commissioner, CAD, Letter No. COM/CAD /DEE (E) 1692/ 2010 Dated. 18-11-2011. *** ORDER: The following Notification will be published in the extraordinary issue of the Andhra Pradesh Gazette. NOTIFICATION In the reference 1st cited, the Commissioner Command Area Development has informed that elections to Farmers Organizations were last conducted in January 2008. Elections due in January 2010 could not be held. The term of Management Committee of Farmers Organization was extended for one year i.e. Upto 31-01-2011, vide Act 4 of 2010. Thereafter, terms of the outgoing President/Chairpersons of Farmers Organizations was extended by one year up to 31-01-2012 vide the reference 1st cited, as the elections due in January 2011 could not be held. As the term of the Farmers Organizations was expiring by 31-01-2012, the Commissioner, CAD has requested to accord permission for conduct of elections and approve the tentative election schedule to Farmers Organizations i.e., Water Users Associations, Distributory Committees and Project Committees. 2. Government, after careful consideration, have determined that elections due in January 2012, are not feasible, immediately. As a result a difficulty has arisen for reconstitution of the Farmers Organizations. 3. Now therefore. in exercise of the powers conferred by section 41 (1) read with section 34 of the APFMIS Act (Act 11 of 1997), Government hereby appoint the outgoing President or Chairpersons , as the case may be , except those, whose performance has been adjudged as “not good ‘to exercise powers an perform function of the respective Farmers Organizations, and the Managing Committee. These appointments will be effective from 1st February, 2012 and valid until 31-01-2013, or till such time regular elections are conducted, whichever is earlier.(PTO) --2— 4. The Commissioner, CAD shall take necessary action accordingly, and shall propose required amendments to the Act on the lines of Act 4 of 2010. 5. A copy of this order shall be placed on the table of the A.P. Legislative Assembly, as required under section 41 (2) of the APFMIS Act. 6.
