Dept., U.O.No.5336/Plg.Estt./A1/2010-10, dt. 28.3.12. * * * O R D E R: After the examination of the representations received from the Service Associations of the Gazetted and Non-Gazetted employees in the Directorate of Economics and Statistics, the Director, Directorate Economics and Statistics has stated that the Chief Planning Officers are assisting the District Collectors in conducting of District Review Committee and all other important meetings like 20 Point Programme, Rajiv Palle Bata, Rajiv Nagara Bata, Praja Padham, MPLADS, ACDP, Monitoring Drought, Chief Minister’s assurances, ect. The participating officers in the District Review Committee (DRC) meetings are of Joint Director Cadre from Agriculture, Animal Husbandry Departments, Project Director, DRDA, Project Director, DWMA, Regional Manager, APSRTC, Regional Joint Director of Higher Education and School Education, Deputy Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, C.E.O. Zilla Parishads and Superintending Engineer etc., whereas the Chief Planning Officer, who is member-convener of DRC is in the cadre of Deputy Director. Since the Chief Planning Officers are in the cadre of Deputy Director they have not been able to take up review meetings on behalf of the District Collector and review the progress of works taken up under various programmes and schemes effectively. 2. Therefore, the Director, Directorate of Economics and Statics has requested for creation of twenty three (23) posts of Joint Directors in A.P. economic and Statistical Services to be placed in all twenty three (23) Districts in the State, duly designated as the Chief Planning Officer (CPO). Therefore, the Planning Department has submitted proposal for creation of twenty-three (23) Joint Director posts in Andhra Pradesh Economic and Statistical Services in the Office of the Chief Planning Officer in twenty-three Districts by suppressing twenty-three (23) Assistant Statistical Officer posts, one in each District. 4. The Government, after careful examination of the proposal of the Planning Department, hereby accord sanction for Creation of twenty-three (23) Joint Director posts in Andhra Pradesh Economic and Statistical Services in the Office of the Chief Planning Officer in twenty-three Districts by suppressing twenty-three (23) Assistant Statistical Officer posts, one in each District in the O/o the Chief Planning Office. 5. The expenditure on the account of the above creation of twenty-three posts of Joint Directors at the district level can be met from the existing scheme proposed under “Plan Scheme in 03 – Upgradation of Chief Planning Office”. 6.
