No. 13(1)/NSC/2022.—In pursuance of the Government of India Resolution No. No.1/NSC/2019-Part-1 dated 5th November, 2019 published as Notification No. 478 dated 19th December, 2019 in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part-III, Section-4, the following persons have been appointed part-time Chairperson and part-time Members in the National Statistical Commission, with effect from the date mentioned against each name. i. Prof. Rajeeva Laxman Karandikar (D.O.B: 11-06-1956), Professor Emeritus, Chennai Mathematical Institute, Chennai as Part-Time Chairperson w.e.f. 08-12-2022. ii. Prof. Mukesh Mohania (D.O.B: 01-01-1966), Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Dean, Innovations, Research and Development, IIIT- New Delhi as Part-Time Member (Category-3) w.e.f. 01-12-2022. iii. Shri Asit Kumar Sadhu (D.O.B: 31-12-1960), Indian Statistical Service (1983) (Retd.), Former Director General, National Sample Survey as Part-Time Member (Category-4) w.e.f. 05-12-2022. 2. The tenure of Chairperson/Members will be three years or till he attains the age of seventy/sixty-five years respectively, whichever is earlier. The appointment, tenure and service conditions of the part-time Chairperson/Members shall further be governed by Government of India Notification No. A-11011/1/2005-Ad-I (Vol. IV) dated 8th May, 2006 published as Notification No. 465 dated 10th May, 2006 in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-Section (ii). 3. The Chairperson of the Commission will have the status of a Minister of State in the Government of India and the Members of the Commission will have the status of a Secretary to the Government of India.
