NOTIFICATION In exercise of the powers conferred by the Section 3 read with section-4, 9, 349, 351 and 355 of the Karnataka Municipalities Act 1964, the Grama Panchayat Area of Benakanahalli of Belagavi District including the area mentioned in Schedule “A” along with the boundaries mentioned in Schedule “B” is hereby proposed to be declared as the “Transitional Area of Benakanahalli” and further to be specified as the “Town Panchayat Area of Benakanahalli” and to constitute the ‘Town Panchayat’ with effect from the date of publishing this Notification in the Official Gazette by His Excellency, the Governor of Karnataka having regard to: i. The population of such area is not less than ten thousand and not more than Twenty thousand; ii. The density of population in such area is not less than four hundred inhabitants to one square kilometer of area; iii. The percentage of employment in non-agricultural activities is not less than fifty per cent of the total employment. The notification is hereby published for the information of the Public. All the persons, who would like to file any objection/suggestion to this Notification are hereby required to submit the same with reasons in writing to the Director, Directorate of Municipal Administration, 9th Floor, V.V.Tower, Bengaluru within 30 days from publication of this Notification in the Official Gazette.
