The Ministry of Culture has constituted a committee to review/evaluate the works done by the Asiatic Society, Kolkata, in accordance with Section 10 of the Asiatic Society, Kolkata Act, 1984.
The committee will also review the efforts made by Asiatic Society for settlement of C&AG/PAC paras, reasons for non-compliance, officers responsible for non-compliance etc.

करने के जलए जनम्न जलजखत अजधकाटरयों को िाजमल करत े हुए एक सजमजत का गठन करती ह:ै
(i) महाजनिेिक, राष्टर ीय अजभलेखागार
(ii) अपर सजचव और जवत् तीय सलाहकार, संस्ट् कृजत मंत्रालय
(iii) संयुक् त सजचव (मंच कला), संस्ट् कृजत मंत्रालय
2. सजमजत सीएंडएिी/पीएसी पैराओं, गरै -अनुपालन के कारणों, गैर-अनुपालन के जलए उत् तरिायी अजधकाटरयों आदि
संबंधी मामलों के जनपिान हते ुएजियाटिक सोसाइिी द्वारा दकए िाने वाल ेप्रयासों की भी समीक्षा करेगी।
3. सजमजत के जवचारार् ाजवषय इस प्रकार ह:ैं
(i) एजियाटिक सोसाइिी द्वारा दकए िाने वाल ेकायों की समीक्षा/मूल् यांकन करना;

(ii) एजियाटिक सोसाइिी द्वारा जनम्न जलजखत सीएिी और पीएसी पैरा के गैर-अनुपालन, गरै अनपु ालन के कारण,
गैर-अनपु ालन के जलए उत् तरिायी अजधकाटरयों आदि की समीक्षा:
(क) एजियाटिक सोसाइिी के कमाचाटरयों को अनुजचत लाभ सबं ंधी सी एडं एिी लेखापरीक्षा पैरा सं. 3.1
(2013 की टरपोिा 23);
(ख) कमाचाटरयों को तिर्ा बोनस का अजनयजमत भगु तान दकए िान े पर पीएसी टरपोिा सं. 62 (2022-23) और
पीएसी टरपोिा सं. 100 (2023-24);
(ग) कमाचाटरयों की भजवष्टय जनजध में जनयोक्त ा के अजतटरक्त भुगतान के संबंध म ें पीएसी टरपोिा सं. 75
(2023-24)।
4. सजमजत अपनी बैठकों और अन् य प्रासंजगक कायाक्रमों को आयोजित करन े प्रदक्रया स्ट् वयं तय कर सकती ह।ै सजमजत एक
माह के समय में टरपोिा प्रस्ट्त ुत करेगी।

F. No.20-10/2013-A&A.—In accordance with the provisions outlined in Section 10 of the Asiatic Society,
Kolkata Act, 1984, the Government of India hereby constitutes a Committee comprising of the following officers to
review/evaluate the works done by the Asiatic Society, Kolkata :
i. Director General, National Archives of India.
ii. Additional Secretary & Financial Adviser, Ministry of Culture
iii. Joint Secretary (Performing Arts), Ministry of Culture
2. The Committee will also review the efforts made by Asiatic Society for settlement of C&AG/PAC paras, reasons
for non-compliance, officers responsible for non-compliance etc.
3. The terms of reference of the Committee shall be as follows :
i. Review/evaluate the works done by the Asiatic Society;
ii. Review the non compliance of the following CAG & PAC paras by Asiatic Society, reason for non compliance,
the officers responsible for non compliance etc:
(a) C&AG Audit para No. 3.1 (Report 23 of 2013) on undue benefit to employees of Asiatic Society;
(b) PAC Report No. 62nd (2022-23) & PAC Report No. 100th (2023-24) on irregular payment of ad-hoc bonus
to employees; and
(c) PAC Report No. 75 (2023-24) regarding Excess contribution of employer's contribution to employees'
provident Fund.
4. The Committee may decide its own procedure for conducting its meetings and other relevant functions. The
Committee will submit a report in one month time.
