NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 17th September, 2025
S.O. 4203(E).— In pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 4 read with sub-section (1) of section 5 of the
National Medical Commission Act, 2019 (30 of 2019), the Central Government hereby appoints Prof. (Dr.) Abhijat
Chandrakant Sheth as Chairperson of the National Medical Commission for a period of four years from the date of
assumption of charge or till attaining the age of seventy years or until further orders, whichever is earlier and for that
purpose, hereby makes the following further amendment in the notification of the Government of India, in the Ministry
of Health and Family Welfare number S.O. 3260 (E), dated the 24th September, 2020.
In the said notification, for paragraph (1), the following paragraph shall be substituted, namely: -
“(1) Under sub-section (2) of section 4, the Chairperson of the National Medical Commission, as specified
below, is hereby appointed for a period of four years from the date of assumption of charge or till attaining the
age of seventy years or until further order, whichever is earlier:
Prof. (Dr.) Abhijat Chandrakant Sheth President, National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences, New Delhi.".
