Parliament Question: Agricultural land irrigation under PMKSY

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF JAL SHAKTI DEPARTMENT OF WATER RESOURCES, RIVER DEVELOPMENT & GANGA REJUVENATION RAJYA SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 4068 ANSWERED ON 30.03.2026 AGRICULTURAL LAND IRRIGATION UNDER PMKSY 4068 SHRI PARIMAL NATHWANI: Will the Minister of Jal Shakti be pleased to state: (a) the data on agricultural land irrigated under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) during the last three years, year-wise and State-wise; (b) the number of farmers benefitted under this scheme and the percentage of agricultural land yet to be irrigated or remains unirrigated, State-wise; and (c) the details of actual expenditure against the allocated amount in 2024-25 for this scheme? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR JAL SHAKTI (SHRI RAJ BHUSHAN CHOUDHARY) (a) & (b) Accelerated Irrigation Benefits Programme (AIBP) and Har Khet Ko Paani (HKKP) are two major components of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) being implemented by Ministry of Jal Shakti. State-wise irrigation potential created under PMKSY-AIBP and HKKP up to March’2022, year- wise additional irrigation potential created during 2022-23 to 2024-25 and balance irrigation potential to be created under these schemes are given at Annexure. Farmers targeted to be benefitted from the projects undertaken in Accelerated Irrigation Benefits Programme and pari passu implementation of Command Area Development and Water Management Programme has been estimated as 200.81 lakh. (c) Details of central assistance provided during 2024-25 under different components of PMKSY, being implemented by this Ministry, is given below. Sl.
