ANSWER
Minister of State in the Ministry of CIVIL AVIATION (Shri Murlidhar
Mohol)
(a): Directorate General of Civil Aviation has comprehensive civil aviation regulations for
safe operation of aircraft and its maintenance. These regulations are continuously updated
and aligned with the International Civil Aviation Organization(ICAO) /European Union
Aviation Safety Agency(EASA) standards. DGCA approves the Continuing Airworthiness
Management Organisation (CAMO) of the airline for the management of continued
airworthiness of its aircraft. Accordingly, airlines maintain the aircraft through the Approved
Maintenance Organisation (AMO) as per DGCA approved Aircraft Maintenance Programme
(AMP)/ Manufacturer guidelines.
During operations, an aircraft may experience technical faults due to malfunctioning of
components/ equipment fitted on the aircraft which require rectification action by the airlines
for continued safe, efficient and reliable air transport service. The operators / airlines rectify
all defects reported on the aircraft before the aircraft is released for flight.
(b) & (c): Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has published a preliminary
investigation report on 12 July 2025.The investigation is under progress. All probable causes leading to the major accident are
being investigated.
