The Minister of State in the Ministry of Civil Aviation (Shri Murlidhar Mohol) responded that, as per the Greenfield Airports (GFA) Policy, 2008, an Airport Developer must identify a suitable site, conduct a Prefeasibility Study, and submit a proposal to the Central Government for 'Site Clearance' followed by 'In-Principle' approval. Currently, no proposal from the State Government or any Airport Developer seeking 'Site Clearance' is under consideration for developing a Greenfield Airport in Hoshangabad Lok Sabha Constituency, Madhya Pradesh.
Under the GFA Policy, 13 Greenfield airports (Durgapur, Shirdi, Kannur, Pakyong, Kalaburagi, Orvakal (Kurnool), Sindhudurg, Kushinagar, Itanagar, Mopa, Shivamogga, Rajkot (Hirasar) and Navi Mumbai) have been operationalized. The Ministry of Civil Aviation launched the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) - UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik) in October 2016 to stimulate regional air connectivity and affordable air travel. Under the RCS-UDAN Scheme, 651 routes connecting 93 aerodromes have been operationalized.

(a) the details of the proposed airport in Hoshangabad Lok Sabha Constituency at
present; and

(a): As per Greenfield Airports (GFA) Policy, 2008, Airport Developer is required
to identify a suitable site and get the Prefeasibility Study conducted and submit a
proposal to the Central Government for 'Site Clearance' followed by 'In-Principle'
approval.
No proposal either from State Government concerned or any Airport Developer
seeking 'Site Clearance' is under consideration for development of Greenfield Airport
in Hoshangabad Lok Sabha Constituency, Madhya Pradesh.
