Parliament Question: Airports, heliports and water aerodromes in Assam under UDAN scheme

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF CIVIL AVIATION RAJYA SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. : 976 TO BE ANSWERED ON THE 9th February 2026 AIRPORTS, HELIPORTS AND WATER AERODROMES IN ASSAM UNDER UDAN SCHEME 976. MS. SUSHMITA DEV Will the Minister of CIVIL AVIATION be pleased to state:- (a) number and details of airports, heliports and water aerodromes proposed in the State of Assam under the UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik) scheme since its inception; (b) current status of each such project, indicating the number and details that have been completed, partially completed or remain under construction; (c) number of airports, heliports and water aerodromes in Assam that are operational, nonoperational or where flight services have been discontinued, along with reasons thereof; (d) duration for which flight operations were conducted before discontinuation, wherever applicable; and (e) total funds allocated, released and utilised for UDAN projects in Assam, infrastructure wise and year-wise? ANSWER Minister of State in the Ministry of CIVIL AVIATION (Shri Murlidhar Mohol) (a) to (e): Under the Regional Connectivity Scheme - Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik (RCS- UDAN), 04(four) airports, 02(two) heliports and 02 (two) water aerodromes are currently identified in the State of Assam for development and operation of RCS flights. Airports: Rupsi, Jorhat, Lilabari and Tezpur Heliports: Nagaon and Geleki Water Aerodromes: Guwahati Riverfront and Kaziranga All four airports have been operationalised. Development of Nagaon heliport is underway and the site for Geleki heliport is yet to be finalised by the State Government. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Guwahati Riverfront (W) has been approved and the EIA contractor has been finalised. The site for Kaziranga (W) is yet to be finalised by the State Government.
