SHRIESWARASAMYK: Will the Minister of HEALTHANDFAMILYWELFARE be pleased tostate: (a) the numberof facultypositions sanctioned, filledandvacantineachAIIMS across the country, category-wise; (b) the details of funds allocated in the Union Budget, sanctioned, released and actually utilised for eachAIIMS during the last three financialyears, institute-wise andyear-wise; (c) whether any AIIMS has reported infrastructure gaps including incomplete hospital blocks, pending residential quarters, non-functional medical equipment or shortage of teachingandresearch facilities, if so, the detailsthereof,institute-wise; and (d) the timeline fixed for filling up all sanctioned faculty positions and completing pendinginfrastructure works invariousAIIMS across the country? ANSWER THE MINISTER OFSTATE IN THE MINISTRYOFHEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE (SHRIPRATAPRAO JADHAV) (a) The details of sanctioned, filled, vacant faculty position in various All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) are at Annexure. New AIIMS established underthe 2022-23 8269.56 7744.92 PradhanMantri Swasthya 2023-24 8635.00 8036.08 Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) 2024-25 9536.00 9472.10(c)& (d) Project management, procurement and recruitment are contingent on various factors, including land availability, regulatory/statutory clearances, site-specific issues, availability of suitable/eligible/qualified faculty/healthcare professionals etc. The following special measures have been takentoexpeditiouslyfill vacantfaculty positions inAIIMS: (i) Standing Selection Committee has been constituted in each Institute as per the provision of theirrespective Act for selectionof facultyetc. (ii) Provision has been made for engagement of retired Faculty at the level of Professor, Additional Professor and Associate Professor, on contract basis, in new AIIMS, up to the age of 70 years from Institutes of National Importance (INIs) and Government Medical Colleges (GMCs). (iii) Visiting Faculty Scheme has been formulated to allow Professors, Additional Professors and Associate Professors, who are holding academic positions in Government Institutions within India or academic institutions outside India, to be the Visiting Faculty in newAIIMS for teachingpurposes. *****Annexure Annexure referred to the reply to part (a) of the Lok Sabha Unstarred Question Number4767 foransweron20.03.2026.
