Parliament Question: Amrit Bharat Trains Schedule under Southern Railway

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 5419 TO BE ANSWERED ON 25.03.2026 AMRIT BHARAT TRAINS SCHEDULE UNDER SOUTHERN RAILWAY 5419. SHRI V K SREEKANDAN: Will the Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to state: (a) whether it is a fact that the rail passengers were left unhappy with the schedule of Amrit Bharat trains announced very recently under Southern Railway and if so, the details thereof; (b) the details of the basis for fixing the schedule of these announced Amrit Bharat trains; and (c) whether the Railways is considering revising the schedule as demanded by the rail users and if so, the details thereof? ANSWER MINISTER OF RAILWAYS, INFORMATION & BROADCASTING AND ELECTRONICS & INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (SHRI ASHWINI VAISHNAW) (a) to (c) On Indian Railways, the timings of train services, including Amrit Bharat train services, is undertaken keeping in view factors which include:  availability of path on zonal railways concerned  availability of platforms at stations  availability of maintenance slots  arrival and departure timings at the destination/originating stations  nature of service At present, Southern Railway operates the following 14 Amrit Bharat Express services: SN Train No. and Name 1 16107 Tambaram - Santragachi Amrit Bharat Express § Page 1 of 22 16108 Santragachi – Tambaram Amrit Bharat Express 3 16121 Tambaram - Thiruvananthapuram Central Amrit Bharat Express 4 16122 Thiruvananthapuram Central - Tambaram Amrit Bharat Express 5 16329 Nagercoil - Mangaluru Jn. Amrit Bharat Express 6 16330 Mangaluru Jn. - Nagercoil Amrit Bharat Express 7 16357 Nagercoil - Charlapalli Amrit Bharat Express 8 16358 Charlapalli - Nagercoil Amrit Bharat Express 9 16601 Erode - Jogbani Amrit Bharat Express 10 16602 Jogbani - Erode Amrit Bharat Express 11 20603 New Jalpaiguri - Nagercoil Amrit Bharat Express 12 20604 Nagercoil - New Jalpaiguri Amrit Bharat Express 13 20609 New Jalpaiguri - Tiruchchirappalli Amrit Bharat Express 14 20610 Tiruchchirappalli - New Jalpaiguri Amrit Bharat Express These services have been well accepted by the travelling passengers and have occupancy of over 100 % during 2025-26 (upto 10.03.2026).
