APPLICATIONS RECEIVED UNDER PMAY-G

Will the Minister of RURAL DEVELOPMENTbe pleased to state:
(a) the details and the number of applications received in the
Scheduled Areas of Rajasthanunder the Pradhan
MantriAwasYojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) during each of the last
five years;
(b) the number of persons benefitted, applications rejected and
applications pending;
(c) whether the Union Government has taken any steps with
regard to situation where thescheduled areas, when a
beneficiary woman obtains a divorce according to tribal
customarypractices (social divorce) and remarries elsewhere,
many poor tribal families are deprived of thebenefits of the
PMAY-G because the women is the head of the household; and
(d) whether the Government proposes to introduce flexibility in
the PMAY-G keeping in view ofthe fact that in the said
customary marriage practice prevalent among tribals as there
is no legaldocumentation of divorce and such cases, if a
woman has remarried and her husband or childrenneed a
house, they have to run around various departments and if so,
the details thereof?

(a) & (b): The Ministry of Rural Development is implementing the
Pradhan MantriAwaasYojana- Gramin (PMAY-G) w.e.f. 1st April, 2016
to construct 4.95 crore houses by March 2029 (including the target
of previous phase i.e. 2.95 crore houses) by providing assistance to
eligible rural households with basic amenities to attain the goal of
Page 1 of 3“Housing for All”. The Ministry of Rural Development has allocated a
target of 4.14 crore houses to the States/UTs under PMAY-G,
against which more than 3.87 crore houses have been sanctioned
by the States and more than 2.95 crore houses have been
completed as on 05.02.2026.
No application from households for inclusion under PMAY-G is
required as the beneficiaries are identified from the Permanent Wait
List (PWL) of PMAY-G based on SECC 2011 and finalized Awaas+,
2018 list. In Scheduled Areas of Rajasthan (in 08 districts) the
number of persons benefitted under PMAY-G is 3,96,503.
Further, The Union Cabinet has approved the continuation of
PMAY-G till March, 2029 for construction of 2 crore more houses.
The Government of India has approved the conduct of exercise for
updating the Awaas + 2018 list for identifying additional eligible
rural households for getting benefits under the scheme using
modified exclusion criteria. In line with the approval of the
Government of India, survey was conducted through Awaas + 2024
Mobile App for the identification of additional eligible rural
households under the scheme. The App had provision for both self-
survey and assisted survey through pre-registered surveyors.
The initial timeline for completion of the Awaas+ 2024 survey
was 31.03.2025 which was extended till 30th April 2025 and then till
15th May 2025 for all States/ UTs. Thereafter, the States/UTs who
requested for extension in timeline were granted additional time for
completion of the survey exercise. At present, the States/UTs are
conducting the corroboration of Self-Survey cases and verification
and deletion of survey cases flagged by the System. This step is to
be completed prior to generation of the Gram Panchayat wise
Priority lists from the Awaas+ 2024 household survey. Thereafter,
the procedure prescribed in the existing Framework For
Implementation (FFI) of the PMAY-G is followed for finalization of
the Permanent Waiting List (PWL) by organizing Gram Sabha
meetings and completion of Appellate Process.
(c) & (d): At present, there is no such proposal pending with the
Ministry. The PMAY-G guidelines provide sanctioning of the house in
the names of women, or jointly with their husbands, except for
cases involving widows, separated, unmarried, or transgender
individuals. To ensure the assistance is targeted to those who are
genuinely deprived, the housing parameters in the SECC 2011 data
and Awaas+ list are used for identifying households and then
verified by Gram Sabhas.
