Parliament Question: Arrival and departure of aircraft

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF CIVIL AVIATION RAJYA SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. : 2568 TO BE ANSWERED ON THE 16th March 2026 ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE OF AIRCRAFT 2568. SHRI KHIRU MAHTO Will the Minister of CIVIL AVIATION be pleased to state:- (a) whether Government has issued any guidelines to private airlines keeping in mind the delay in arrival and departure of flights; (b) if so, the details thereof; (c) whether Government has held anyone accountable for this delay; and (d) if so, the details thereof? ANSWER Minister of State in the Ministry of CIVIL AVIATION (Shri Murlidhar Mohol) (a) to (d): Generally, flights are operated by the airlines as per the approved schedule. However, at times due to various extraordinary reasons such as weather, technical, operational, ATC, ramp, airport issues, etc. which could not have been avoided even if all reasonable measures had been taken by the airline, flights get delayed. In order to ensure appropriate protection for the air travelers due to flight delays, DGCA has issued Civil Aviation Requirement (CAR) Section 3, Series M, Part IV titled as "Facilities to be provided to passengers by airlines due to denied boarding, cancellation of flights and delays in flights". ******
