Will the Ministerof HEALTH AND FAMILYWELFAREbe pleasedtostate:
(a) the number of Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, including Urban Health and Wellness Centres
(Urban HWCs), operational in the country, particularly in slum areas of metropolitan cities
suchasMumbai,ThaneandPuneandindistrictsof UttarPradeshincludingDeoria andBallia,
State-wise anddistrict-wise;
(b) the details of availability of free medicines and diagnostic services at these centres under
the Free Drugs Service Initiative along with the number of diagnostic tests provided and the
sanctioned, released and expenditure amounts, especially in Uttar Pradesh, State-wise and
district-wise;
(c) the current status of deployment of telemedicine services (e-Sanjeevani) at these centres
for providingspecialist consultations, State-wise anddistrict-wise;
(d) the measures taken/proposed to be taken by the Government to screen urban and rural
poor populations for non-communicable diseases such as hypertension and diabetes under
Ayushman Bharat andalliedprogrammes; and
(e) the steps taken/proposed to be taken by the Government to strengthen the disease
surveillance system, particularly in densely populated urban pockets and the districts in Uttar
Pradesh which have not yet achieved the targets for Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR), Infant
Mortality Rate (IMR) andTotal FertilityRate (TFR)?

(a) to (e): As reported by States/UTs on Ayushman Arogya Mandir (AAM) portal, 1,82,944
AAMs [erstwhile Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centres (AB-HWCs)], including
urban AAMs, have been operationalized across the country by strengthening Sub Health
Centres (SHCs) and Primary Health Centres (PHCs), as on 31.12.2025. State/UT-wisenumberof AAMs operationalizedacross the country isenclosedasAnnexure-I.
Thecumulativenumberof AAMsoperationalizedindistrictsofMaharashtra suchasMumbai,
Thane and Pune, including slum areas of metropolitan cities and in districts of Uttar Pradesh
includingDeoria andBallia, ason31.12.2025,isenclosed asAnnexure-II.
Under Free Drugs and Free Diagnostics Service Initiative, Government of India provides
financial support to States/UTs for 106 drugs & 14 diagnostic tests at SHC-AAM and 172
drugs & 63 tests at PHC-AAM level. The State-wise details of State Program
Implementation Plan (SPIP) approvals and expenditure for Free Drugs Services Initiative
and Free Diagnostics Services Initiative under NHM from F.Y. 2022-23 to F.Y.2024-25
includingUttar Pradeshare enclosed asAnnexure-III andIV respectively.
The teleconsultation services, available at all operational AAMs across the country including
rural and urban areas, enables people to access the specialist services closer to their homes
addressing concerns of physical accessibility, shortage of service providers and to facilitate
continuum of care. Total teleconsultations conducted at AAM are 42.66 crore, as on
31.12.2025.
Under the National Programme for Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases
(NP-NCD), a population-based initiative for prevention, control and screening for common
NCDs hasbeenrolledout inthe countryunderNational HealthMission (NHM). Asignificant
improvement has been reported in the screening and management of Non-communicable
diseases (NCDs) with over 40.13 crore individuals for Hypertension and 39.86 crore for
Diabetes, screened/examined for NCD at PrimaryHealth facilitiesincluding AAM, asperNP
-NCD portal ason31.12.2025.
To strengthen the disease surveillance system, particularly in densely populated urban
pockets and districts of Uttar Pradesh that have not yet achieved targets for Maternal
Mortality Rate (MMR), Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) and Total Fertility Rate (TFR),
Government is implementing the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) for
early detection and timely response to disease outbreaks and has enhanced monitoring of
maternaland childhealthindicatorsunderReproductive Maternal Newborn Child Adolescent
HealthPlusNutrition (RMNCAH+N) strategy.
