BIJULI KALITA MEDHI: Will the Minister of LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT be pleased to state: (a)the details of the number of employees and establishments registered with Employee State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), State/UT-wise; (b)whether the number of insured persons increased during the last ten years and if so, the details thereof; (c)whether existing ESIC facilities have been upgraded, if so, the details thereof along with its estimated impact; and (d)whether the Government has approved new ESIC projects, if so, the details thereof along with new jobs expected to be created? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE FOR LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT (SUSHRI SHOBHA KARANDLAJE) (a) & (b): State wise details of employees and establishments registered with ESIC on 31.3.2024 is at Annexure-I. Details of number of insured persons during 2014-15 to 2023-24 is at Annexure-II. (c) & (d): Upgradation of ESI hospitals / dispensaries is a continuous process. Based on norms and utilization of services, Employee State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has accorded approval for upgradation of 03 Employee State Insurance Scheme (ESIS) dispensaries and upgradation of bed strength in 12 ESI hospitals across the country since 01.01.2023. Besides, 48 Branch offices / Model Dispensary cum Diagnostic Centre (MDDC) of ESIC have been upgraded to Dispensary cum Branch Office to provide the good medical benefits to its beneficiaries. ESI Corporation has also sanctioned 97 new ESI hospitals to establish in different States / UTs.
