Executive Summary & Key Takeaways

**Summary:** This document summarizes the Indian Ministry of Labour and Employment's response to Lok Sabha Unstarred Question No. 1219, addressed on July 28, 2025, regarding benefits to Employees' Pension Scheme (EPS) 95 pensioners. The question inquired about potential Supreme Court orders mandating minimum pension benefits, including higher pensions based on actual salary, medical facilities, and dearness allowance relief for EPS 95 pensioners and their dependents. The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Sushri Shobha Karandlaje, stated that the Supreme Court has not issued any orders to provide the aforementioned benefits to EPS 95 pensioners. Therefore, no government orders have been issued for implementation, and no EPS 95 pensioners have benefitted from such orders. The response clarifies that the premise of the question—that the Supreme Court has mandated these specific benefits—is incorrect.
