GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF CULTURE LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION No.2357 TO BE ANSWERED ON 03.08.2026 Birth centenary of Martyr Baji Rout †2357. Shri Rudra Narayan Pany: Will the Minister of CULTURE be pleased to state: (a) whether the birth centenary of the youngest martyr Baji Rout is being celebrated this year in Odisha; (b) if so, the role of the Government in this regard; and (c) whether any event at the central level is likely to be organized in the national capital, New Delhi? ANSWER MINISTER OF CULTURE AND TOURISM (SHRI GAJENDRA SINGH SHEKHAWAT) (a to c) No Sir. Ministry of Culture under its Centenaries & Anniversaries Scheme commemorates birth centenaries and special anniversaries such as 50th/75th/100th/125th/150th/175th etc. of eminent personalities and events of historical importance of the country. Once the commemoration is approved in respect of eminent personality/important event, Ministry takes various initiatives to commemorate the same, which includes release of commemorative coin and commemorative postal stamp. Birth centenary of martyr Baji Rout is not an approved commemoration of Ministry of Culture. * * * * *
