SHRI MADDILA GURUMOORTHY Will the Minister of NEW AND RENEWABLE ENERGY be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government proposes to launch a Canal Solar Power Project on the Telugu- Ganga Canal which runs for approximately 150 km through the Tirupati Lok Sabha segment of Andhra Pradesh and this KP canal (Satya Sai Ganga Canal) is a major source of drinking water to Tamil Nadu Industrial SEZs and Ayacut under irrigation along its alignment and if so, the details thereof; (b) whether the Government has received any proposals for utilizing the canal banks or top for solar power generation, especially near growth centers like Sri City; (c) if so, the details thereof; and (d) if not, whether the Government would consider initiating a feasibility study in this regard and if so, the details thereof?
