Mala Roy asked the Minister of Railways to state the details of the number of confirmed tickets of first, second, and third AC and sleeper class that were canceled due to the late running of trains during the period 15th November 2025 to 15th January 2026. The Minister of Railways, Information & Broadcasting and Electronics & Information Technology (Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw) responded that reserved tickets are canceled by passengers for various reasons, including change in plan, cancellation of an event, family eventuality, decision to move by alternate mode of transport, late running of trains, etc. He also said that the reasons for cancellation by passengers are not captured in the system.

Reserved tickets are cancelled by Passengers on account of different
reasons like change in plan due to cancellation of any event, any
