M K VISHNU PRASAD: Will the Ministerof HEALTH AND FAMILYWELFAREbe pleasedtostate: (a) the details of the Centrally Sponsored Health Schemes / Programmes and financial assistance schemesfor medicaltreatmentpresently inoperationinthe country; (b) the number of persons benefited therefrom during the last three years and the current year, State-wise; (c) the amount of funds allocated for the schemes/programmes in the country during the same period,State-wise andyear-wise;and (d) the assessment of the Government about the efficiency of the schemes in improving health, particularlythatof the poor people inthe country? ANSWER THE MINISTER OFSTATE IN THE MINISTRYOFHEALTH AND FAMILYWELFARE (SHRIPRATAPRAO JADHAV) (a)to(d): Under the National Health Mission (NHM),the Ministry of HealthandFamilyWelfare provides technical and financial support to the States/UTs to strengthen public health infrastructure and service delivery in rural areas. States/UTs submit their proposals through the annual Programme Implementation Plan (PIP), and based on the available resource envelope (RE), the Government of India grants approvals in the Record of Proceedings (ROP) as per the linkprovidedbelow: https://nhm.gov.in/index1.php?lang=1&level=1&sublinkid=1377&lid=744 As updated by the States/UTs in AAM portal, a total of 1,82,944 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs have been established and operationalized as on 31.12.2025. Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAMs), erstwhile Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centres (AB-HWCs), have been established by upgrading existing Sub-Health Centres (SHC) and Primary Health Centres (PHC) in rural and urban areas to deliver 12 package of basic healthcare services. These primarily health services include Reproductive and Child Health (RMNCHA+N) services,Communicable Diseases, Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) (screening and management for NCDs such as Hypertension, Diabetes and 3 common cancers of Oral, Breast and Cervix) and incrementallyaddingotherservices for mentalhealth,ENT,Ophthalmology, oral health,geriatric andpalliativehealth care andtrauma care etc. The detailsof Central releases andExpenditure under NHM inthe country from FY2022 -23toFY2024-25 isattachedat Annexure-I. Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri-Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) is a centrally sponsored scheme which provides health coverage of Rs. 5 lakhs per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization to 12 Crore families constituting bottom 40% of India’spopulation. InMarch 2024,around37lakhfamiliesof ASHAworkers,Anganwadi Workers(AWWs), andAnganwadi Helpers (AWHs) were includedunder the scheme. In October 2024,the scheme was further expanded tocover nearly 6crore senior citizens aged 70 years and above, belonging to approximately 4.5 crore families, irrespective of their socio-economic status. Under AB PM-JAY, the latest national master of Health Benefit Package (HBP 2022) providescashless healthcareservices for 1,961proceduresacross 27medicalspecialties. As on 31 January 2026, a total of 11.46 crore hospital admissions, amounting to Rs. 1.69 lakh crore, have been authorized under the scheme across the States/UTs. The State-wise details of hospital admissions during the last three yearsand the current year are attached asAnnexure- II. The funding of AB PM-JAY is entirely demand-driven.
