GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF CIVIL AVIATION RAJYA SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. : 984 TO BE ANSWERED ON THE 9th February 2026 CONNECTING BARAMATI AIRPORT UNDER UDAN SCHEME 984. SMT SUNETRA AJIT PAWAR Will the Minister of CIVIL AVIATION be pleased to state:- (a) the current status of connecting Baramati airport to civil air traffic under the 'UDAN' scheme; (b) whether Government plans to develop 'Night Landing' facilities in Baramati and use it as an agricultural export (Krishi UDAN) hub; (c) if so, the details thereof; (d) whether there is any special financial assistance or scheme proposed for the modernization of flying training institutes located in Baramati so that local youth can get employment in the aviation sector; and (e) if so, the details thereof? ANSWER Minister of State in the Ministry of CIVIL AVIATION (Shri Murlidhar Mohol) (a) to (c): Baramati airstrip in Maharashtra is available in the list of unserved airports in the UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik) document for bidding. Under UDAN 5.2, bids have been received for Baramati airstrip. The Government of Maharashtra has been requested on 17.02.2024 to provide consent and confirm the availability of land for the development of the airport. Response from the State Government is awaited. (d) & (e): Presently, no such proposal is under consideration. However, the Ministry is dedicated towards the development of the flying training ecosystem in the country. The Ministry has implemented the ranking framework to improve the quality, safety, and efficiency of pilot training in India, while fostering a performance-driven and transparent training ecosystem and also approved the liberalized FTO Policy for improved operational viability and capacity of FTOs. ******
