**Policy Summary: Hisar International Airport Development**

CONSTRUCTION OF INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT AT HISAR

Will the Minister of CIVIL AVIATION
be pleased to state:-
(a) whether it is a fact that the plan to develop an international airport at
Hisar in Haryana has been going on for several years, yet no regular
commercial flights or international services have been started so far;
(b) if so, the details thereof along with the progress and expenditure incurred
under all three phases of the project till date;
(c) whether it is also a fact that objections have been raised by the Directorate
General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) or the Public Works Department (PWD)
regarding the quality of construction work and if so, the details thereof; and
(d) whether the Government is taking any special measures to ensure timely
completion of the said project and if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b): Hisar Airport, situated in the State of Haryana, is an operational
airport owned by the State Government of Haryana and operated by the
Airports Authority of India (AAI) under an Operations & Maintenance
Agreement signed between the State Government and AAI. Scheduled
commercial flights from Hisar Airport are currently being operated by
Alliance Air to destinations including Delhi, Ayodhya, and Chandigarh.
The development works of the airport have been undertaken by the State
Government of Haryana in a phased manner and an expenditure of
approximately Rs.1457 Crore has been incurred so far under Phase I and
Phase II of the project.
(c): No objections regarding the quality of construction work have been
reported by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) or the Public
Works Department (PWD).(d): The work related to the construction of a new terminal building and
