Construction of Multi-purpose Sports Stadium in Dhanbad
†98. Shri Dulu Mahato:
Will the Minister of YOUTH AFFAIRS AND SPORTS be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government has received any proposal for the construction
of a modern multi-purpose sports stadium in the Dhanbad Lok Sabha
constituency and if so, the action taken thereon;
(b) whether the Government proposes to approve this project under the
Department of Sports or any other relevant scheme, if so, the details
thereof;
(c) whether proposed stadium planned to include facilities such as cricket,
football, hockey, athletics tracks, an indoor hall, a gym, a coaching centre
and a hostel;
(d) whether any policy is being formulated to provide training, competitive
atmosphere and employment opportunities to local youth through the
construction of this stadium, if so, the details thereof;
(e) whether the Government has taken a note that there is urgent need for
high-level sports infrastructure in a region like Dhanbad, which is rich in
sports talent; and
(f) if so, the details thereof?
