(a) whether the Government has received any proposal or implementation of
any scheme for construction of sports complexes in various districts of
Maharashtra, Khandwa Lok Sabha Constituency in Madhya Pradesh and
Dadra and Nagar Haveli;
(b) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor and whether the
Government is likely to consider the said proposal;
(c) the details of the funds released to the said State/UTs under Khelo India
Programme for promoting sports activities during the last three years; and
(d) the details of the funds generated through Corporate Social
Responsibility (CSR) funds to encourage sportspersons/athletes during the
last three years, district-wise?

(a) and (b) ‘Sports’ being a State subject, the responsibility of development
of sports, including construction of sports complexes, rests primarily with
the respective State/Union Territory Governments. The Union Government
only supplements their efforts by bridging critical gaps. Further, the Khelo
India Scheme and National Sports Development Fund (NSDF), implemented
by this Ministry, under which financial assistance for development of sports
infrastructure is provided are demand-driven schemes. The proposals

considered for financial support, subject to their completeness, technical
feasibility and availability of funds under the Scheme. This Ministry has not
received any such proposal for construction of sports complexes in various
districts of Maharashtra, Khandwa Lok Sabha Constituency in Madhya
Pradesh and Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
(c) Funds are released Scheme-wise and not State-wise in this Ministry.
