Parliament Question: Conversion of Kolwa Railway Station into full-fledged Station

SHRI MURARI LAL MEENA: Will the Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to state: (a) whether Kolwa railway station located between Bandikui and Dausa serving as a major connecting point for 30-40 villages and falling under the Dausa Lok Sabha Constituency has been converted into a flag station after broad gauge conversion and is under consideration to restore it as a full-fledged station and if so, the details thereof; (b) whether there are any plans to enhance passenger amenities and train stoppages at Baswa Railway Station which is served by a population of approximately 25,000 and dependent by more than 15 surrounding villages and if so, the details thereof; (c) whether a survey/review has been conducted to reopen the previously closed Khan Bhakri and Bhandana Railway Stations near the district headquarters Dausa especially considering the growing population of the area and its proximity to Jaipur and if so, the details thereof; and (d) whether there is a proposal to provide a stoppage for the 79601/79602 Ajmer-Jaipur- Gangapur City DEMU train at Jhar Railway Station and if so, the details thereof? ANSWER MINISTER OF RAILWAYS, INFORMATION & BROADCASTING AND ELECTRONICS & INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (SHRI ASHWINI VAISHNAW) (a) to (d): Kolvagram Railway station (locally known as Kolva) is a halt station situated at a distance of 18 km from Dausa and 12 km from Bandikui stations. At present, Dausa station is served by 80 trains and Bandikui station by 96 trains, which cater to the travel needs of the §population of the city and surrounding villages. Further, 08 passenger train services presently stop at Kolvagram station, as under: SN Train No. and Name 1 09635/09636 Jaipur–Rewari Passenger 2 51973/51974 Mathura–Jaipur Passenger 3 14715/14716 Hisar–Jaipur Express 4 14733/14734 Jaipur–Bathinda Express To improve passenger amenities at Kolvagram station, works for platform extension, provision of covered platform shelter, foot over bridge and entrance ramps for Divyangjan have been taken up. At present, Baswa Railway Station is served by the following 14 train services: SN Train No. and Name 1 14661/14662 Barmer–Jammu Tawi Express 2 14715/14716 Hisar–Jaipur Express 3 14733/14734 Bathinda–Jaipur Express 4 19611/19612 Ajmer–Amritsar Express 5 19613/19614 Ajmer–Amritsar Express 6 20489/20490 Barmer–Mathura Express 7 51973/51974 Mathura–Jaipur Passenger The development / redevelopment / upgradation / modernization of stations on Indian Railways is a continuous and ongoing process and works in this regard are undertaken as per requirement, subject to inter- se priority and availability of funds. Presently, the works of platform §extension and provision of covered platform shelter have been taken up for improving passenger amenities at Baswa railway station. Khan Bhakri and Bhandana halt stations near Dausa were closed earlier due to low passenger volume. Opening of stations including reopening of closed stations depends on many factors such as passenger footfall, cost, recurring expenditure, operational feasibility and distance of nearby stations etc. Jhir Railway Station is presently served by the following 04 train services, catering to the needs of passengers of the station: SN Train No. and Name 1 14733 Bathinda–Jaipur Express 2 51973/51974 Mathura–Jaipur Passenger 3 14716 Jaipur–Hisar Express Train No. 79601/79602 Ajmer–Jaipur–Gangapur City DEMU presently has scheduled stoppages at Dausa/Bassi stations near Jhir railway station. Provision of additional stoppages of trains depends upon traffic justification, operational feasibility including availability of path on the section, and availability of matching infrastructure such as platform length, etc. ***** §
