Executive Summary & Key Takeaways

**Summary:** Lok Sabha Unstarred Question No. 3108, addressed to the Minister of Civil Aviation on August 7, 2025, inquired about the potential conversion of the Sikar airstrip into an airport and the feasibility of connecting religious sites in Sikar (Khatu Shyam Ji, Jeen Mata Ji, Salasar Ji, Lohagal, and Shakambhari Mata Ji) via air service. The Minister of State in the Ministry of Civil Aviation responded that the Sikar airstrip is listed as an unserved airstrip under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS-UDAN). To date, no airline has submitted proposals to operate RCS flights from the Sikar airstrip. The revival or upgradation of unserved and underserved airports is contingent upon a valid bid and subsequent award to a Selected Airline Operator, as per the UDAN scheme provisions. Future proposals for RCS flights connecting the Sikar airstrip will be considered should any airline submit a valid bid in upcoming bidding rounds, in accordance with the UDAN Scheme's guidelines.
