CSR FUNDS FOR DEVELOPMENTAL PROJECTS IN JHARKHAND
QUESTION
267 Shri Deepak Prakash:
Will the Minister of CORPORATE AFFAIRS be pleased to state:
(a) whether it is a fact that Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) have allocated sufficient funds under
CSR for development of projects of basic amenities and public welfare activities:
(b) if so, the details of fund sanctioned/ allotted by PSUs in the State of Jharkhand during the last three
years for various developmental activities; and
(c) whether Government will impress u pon PSUs for development and providing of basic amenities in
schools in backward areas of Jharkhand, if so, the details thereof?

QUESTION NO. 267 (12th POSITION) FOR 17th MARCH, 2026 REGARDING CSR FUNDS FOR
DEVELOPMENTAL PROJECTS IN JHARKHAND.
(a) & (b): All data related to CSR expenditure filed by companies in MCA21 registry including state-
wise, district-wise, year-wise, company-wise and project-wise is available in public domain at
www.csr.gov.in. On the basis of annual filings made by the companies in the MCA 21 registry, the
development sector-wise and district-wise CSR expenditure by PSUs in Jharkhand for the last three
Financial Years i.e. FY 2021-22 to FY 2023-24 is attached at Annexure-I and Annexure-II respectively.
There is no provision of allocation / sanction of funds in CSR legal framework.
(c): Under the Companies Act, 2013, CSR is a Board driven process and the Board of the company is
empowered to plan, decide, execute and monitor CSR activities of the company based on the
recommendation of its CSR Committee. This Committee formulates and recommends the CSR policy,
which outlines the activities to be undertaken by the company in alignment with the areas or subjects
specified in Schedule VII. The Government does not issue any directions to Corporates to spend CSR in
any particular area or activity.
