GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF CULTURE LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 1346 TO BE ANSWERED ON 27.07.2026 CULTURAL TOURISM THROUGH HERITAGE VILLAGES 1346. SHRI DHARAMBIR SINGH: Will the Minister of CULTURE be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government proposes to develop Heritage Villages across the country by integrating local history, traditional crafts, folk music, cuisine and rural tourism; (b) whether any guidelines have been prepared for identifying villages having significant historical and cultural importance; (c) the details of the incentives proposed to be provided for preservation of heritage structures and promotion of local artisans under the scheme; and (d) whether any village in the Bhiwani-Mahendragarh Lok Sabha Constituency has been identified or proposed to be identified under the said initiative? ANSWER MINISTER OF CULTURE & TOURISM (SHRI GAJENDRA SINGH SHEKHAWAT) (a) to (d): The Ministry of Culture is not implementing any specific scheme for the development of Heritage Villages through the integration of local history, traditional crafts, folk music, cuisine, and rural tourism.However, the Ministry of Culture undertakes activities relating to the research, documentation, preservation, and dissemination of India's tangible and intangible cultural heritage. It also documents and digitally maps the cultural heritage of villages across the country, including local history, traditional crafts, folk traditions, art forms, and other cultural assets. Such documentation and cultural mapping initiatives may provide academic and archival support to broader heritage development programmes undertaken by the Government. *****
