ANSWER THE MINISTER OFSTATE IN MINISTRYOFHEALTH & FAMILYWELFARE (SHRIPRATAPRAO JADHAV) (a) to (c) Under Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY), establishment of All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) Madurai has been approved at a cost of Rs. 2021.51 crore. The loan component of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is limited to Japanese Yen 22,788,000,000. Till date, the Ministry has released Rs. 471.02 crore for construction of AIIMS Madurai. The current progress of civil works of AIIMS Madurai is 47%. As per the Loan Agreement signed between Government of Japan and Government of India in March 2021, the target date of completion of the project is October 2026. The completion of the projects depends upon various factors including transfer of encumbrance free land by the State Government, regulatory clearances and site-specific issues. The progress of the project is regularly monitored at the level of the Institute and the Ministry with all stakeholders. A steering committee has also been constituted under the Chairpersonship of Principal Secretary (Health), Government of Tamil Nadu to monitor and facilitatesmooth implementationof the project(d) The Status of All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) at various locations are asunder: Sanctioned Cost/ Sl.
