Will the Minister of ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS be pleased to state:-
(a) whether the full Delhi-Mumbai Expressway corridor is now on track for completion by the revised
June, 2026 deadline;
(b) how the completion of the Delhi-Vadodara stretch by May, 2026 has reduced commercial travel
time across five States;
(c) what specific geographical challenges delayed the three remaining packages in Gujarat until the
2027-28 fiscal year; and
(d) how much of the sanctioned budget remains unutilised following the recent resolution of land
acquisition and utility shifting issues?

(a) to (c) The Government has taken up the implementation of Delhi-Mumbai Expressway under the
Bharatmala Pariyojana which passes through the States of Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and
Gujarat, and terminates in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The implementation of this corridor, including its
spur connectivity, has been taken up in 54 construction packages covering a total length of 1,445 km,
out of which 929 km has been operationalised.
Out of the 912 km total of the Delhi-Vadodara section of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, 697
km has been operationalized, and 215 km is under implementation. The Delhi-Vadodara Section is
targeted for its completion by June 2026.
The construction progress of the corridor, including that of Packages 8, 9 and 10 of the
Vadodara-Mumbai section in the State of Gujarat, has been affected mainly due to delays on part of
Contractor. These packages in the State of Gujarat are targeted for completion by March, 2028 while
other packages would be completed in 2026.(d) The Government in Ministry of Road Transport and Highways allocates the funds/budget
state/Union territory/ implementing agency wise and not the project wise. However, the sanctioned cost
of the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway is ₹ 96,547 crore, against which an expenditure of ₹ 77,558 crore
has been incurred up to December, 2025.
