Will the Minister of JAL SHAKTI be pleased to state:
(а) whether the Government has received any proposal from Himachal Pradesh for the development and
beautification of Dal Lake in Dharamshala under the Amrit Yojana;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Government is contemplating to complete the said work of beautification within a fixed
timeframe; and
(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (d) Water is a State subject; and management of water is the responsibility of the State
Government. Government of India supplements the efforts of the States through schematic
interventions/ advisories. It provides financial and technical support to the States through various
schemes/ Missions such as Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation 2.0 (AMRUT 2.0).
Under AMRUT 2.0, States/UTs are empowered to select, appraise, prioritise and implement the
projects within the broad framework of Mission guidelines. State Level Technical Committee (SLTC)
headed by the Secretary, Urban Development provides technical support to the State High Powered
Steering Committee (SHPSC) headed by the Chief Secretary of the State, to approve, monitor and
supervise the implementation of the scheme at the State/ UT level. On recommendation of the SHPSC,
Apex Committee of Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA) approves projects within the broad
framework of Mission guidelines.
The State Government has not submitted any proposal for development of Dal Lake in
Dharmashala, Himachal Pradesh under AMRUT 2.0 for approval of the Apex Committee.
