Parliament Question: Development of coastal circuit in Raigad

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF TOURISM RAJYA SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO.142# ANSWERED ON 29.01.2026 DEVELOPMENT OF COASTAL CIRCUIT IN RAIGAD 142# SHRI DHAIRYASHIL MOHAN PATIL: Will the Minister of TOURISM be pleased to state: (a) whether Government has received any proposal for development of a coastal circuit in the Raigad Parliamentary Constituency under the Swadesh Darshan scheme; (b) if so, the details of financial assistance proposed or approved for the said project; and (c) the funds allocated and released, so far, along with the timeline for completion of the said project? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF TOURISM (SHRI GAJENDRA SINGH SHEKHAWAT) (a) to (c): Development and promotion of tourism destinations and products is primarily undertaken by the concerned State Government (SG) / Union Territory Administration (UTA). However, Ministry of Tourism through its centre sector scheme of ‘Swadesh Darshan (SD), Swadesh Darshan 2.0 (SD2.0)’, and ‘Challenge Based Destination Development (CBDD), a sub-scheme of Swadesh Darshan 2.0 scheme complements the efforts of tourism infrastructure development in the country by extending financial assistance to the SGs/UTAs on receipt of the project proposals from the concerned State Government/Union Territory Administration in synergy with the scheme guidelines, Government directions, availability of funds, inter-se priority etc. While receipt of project proposals under Swadesh Darshan scheme is an ongoing process, the scheme is presently approved till March, 2026.
